We keep the system under review and engage with industry representatives as appropriate.<\/p><p>Furthermore, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (2008), which prohibit unfair commercial practices, are being restated in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill, currently in Parliament. Unfair commercial practices include misleading actions and omissions which are likely to persuade consumers into taking decisions they otherwise would not have.<\/p>"}

In assessing what someone can afford to pay for care, a local authority must ensure that in addition to the minimum guaranteed income or personal expenses allowance, people retain enough of their income so they have sufficient funds to meet those needs not being met by the local authority.<\/p><p>The purpose of these means tests is to avoid social deprivation. The next review of the allowance \u2013 the point at which an assessment would be made \u2013 is due in January 2022.<\/p>"}
