We want to move away from being a \u2018throw-away\u2019 society. A crucial part of that is making products last longer by ensuring they can be readily repaired or reused.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>We have committed to match or, where economically practicable, exceed the ambition of the EU\u2019s Ecodesign standards in relation to resource efficiency, by looking to legislate to set product standards for other resource intensive product groups over and above those in the EU Ecodesign Directive. We will explore the role that consumer information, as well as guarantees and warranties, can play in ensuring products stay in use longer and maintain their value.<\/p>"}
