NHS England is working with industry partners and four ambulance trusts to pilot second generation electric ambulance vehicles, with 11 electric ambulances on order to be delivered in 2023/24.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>It is not possible to accurately estimate how many and what proportion of ambulances will be electric by 2030. A number of factors will impact adoption including technological development, cost, and the availability of charging facilities. However, by 2030 NHS England expect all new emergency ambulance vehicles in England will be emission free (electric or hydrogen powered).<\/p>"}

The CASS Guidance is issued under section 78 of the Care Act and local authorities must have regard to it.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The Regulations and Guidance do not require local authorities to charge. They seek to ensure that, where local authorities do charge, this will be based on fairer, well-designed charging policies and ensure in particular that service users on low incomes are protected from charging and that any charges levied on disability benefits are subject to an assessment of disability costs, to ensure their reasonableness.<\/p>"}
