The group reconvened in 2012, following the Arab Spring, to focus on providing political support to Yemen\u2019s transition under the GCC Initiative and support for economic and security reform. The Friends of Yemen group last met in the margins of the UN General Assembly in September 2014. The UK remains committed to the objectives of the group, and the important co-ordination mechanism it offers.
