The whole of Government is preparing for the UK to make an orderly and successful exit from the European Union. Cross-government governance arrangements are coordinating efforts across Whitehall. The Prime Minister established and chairs a Cabinet Committee on European Union Exit and Trade to oversee the UK’s exit at Cabinet level. The Committee meets regularly. Since the triggering of Article 50, two new subcommittees, chaired by the Prime Minister, have been established. One will oversee the negotiations on the UK’s withdrawal from and new relationship with the EU, and the second will focus on issues relating to the UK’s future trading arrangements with non-European countries. At official level, the cross-government EU Exit Analysis Board provides oversight and direction to analytical work related to EU exit, including sectoral and regional analysis, being undertaken across Whitehall. The Department for Exiting the European Union, working with officials across government, continues to undertake a wide range of analysis to support our negotiations, covering the entirety of the UK economy.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/3474", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Baroness Anelay of St Johns"} } , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Baroness Anelay of St Johns"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2017-07-24", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2017-07-24T14:48:40.707Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "203"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Exiting the European Union "} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Exiting the European Union "} , "date" : {"_value" : "2017-07-10", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Police and Crime Commissioners: Elections"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "2"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25277", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Lords"} } ], "questionText" : "Her Majesty's Government what arrangements have been made to ensure detailed analysis and discussion across government departments of the impact of departure from the EU single market on specific sectors and regions of the UK economy.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/693", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Kinnock"} } , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Lord Kinnock"} ], "uin" : "HL623"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/626667", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Cabinet Office"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/626667/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

The pre-election restrictions for Police and Crime Commissioners are governed by Section 2 of the Local Government Act 1986, as amended in 1988. It is permissible for a Police and Crime Commissioner to campaign individually on a political basis, but without recourse to the resources of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC). The purdah period for Police and Crime Commissioners and their offices, like other Local Authorities, begins with the publication of the notice of election by the Police Area Returning Officer (PARO), which must happen no later than the 25th day before the day of the election, but can be issued at any point before then.
