That is why we are taking a cross-Government approach to tackling the issues through the Hate Crime Action Plan published in July 2016. The Government will continue to deliver against the commitments under the action plan which includes recently announced funding for seven new community-led projects, one of which focuses specifically on tackling LGBT hate crime. The Home Secretary has also announced in October funding for the creation of a national online hate crime hub, improving the response to all forms of hate crime.<\/p>"}

This progress report provides an overview of our achievements since the action plan was first published in March 2012 and sets out our key priorities for the remainder of this Parliament. A specific action in the plan includes tackling homophobia and transphobia in sports.<br><br>We are meeting the coalition commitment to improve the recording of hate crimes motivated by sexual orientation and transgender identity and are working with the police and other partners to encourage more victims to come forward. We have supported voluntary sector organisations to develop third party reporting services for LGBT victims.<\/p><p> <\/p>"}
