The UK currently has no fossil fuel subsidies. We are committed to meeting our climate change commitments as cost effectively as possible and over the last 10 years emissions from the power sector have decreased by 57%. Looking ahead we have committed to further reducing our dependence on fossil fuels by phasing out unabated coal from our power system altogether by 2025. The Government is also enabling the transition away from fossil fuels in the transport sector by supporting the development of the market for ultra-low emission vehicles.

Government officials meet with representatives of local authorities to ensure that victims of crime receive effective and joined up support. The Ministry of Justice also works closely with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, which holds the relationship with local authorities.

The Ministry of Justice has responsibility for supporting victims of crime. We want to ensure that all victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation feel they can come forward to report abuse and have access to the support they need. This is why we have allocated around £7.2m in funding to sexual violence support services to provide specialist support for victims of sexual violence, including victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation.

We have also allocated Police and Crime Commissioners around £68m in funding to locally deliver or commission support services for victims of crime. £4.7m of this funding has been allocated specifically for services supporting victims of child sexual abuse. This Government has also awarded grant funding to national organisations providing vital services for victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation, including telephone and online counselling.

Local authorities receive Government funding to deliver local services in their communities, and it is for them to decide how best to direct their funding in line with local priorities.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4362", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Edward Argar"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Charnwood"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Edward Argar"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2018-07-09", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2018-07-09T15:31:38.883Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "54"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Justice"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Justice"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2018-07-05", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Offences against Children: Victim Support Schemes"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what recent discussions he has had with local authorities on the provision of support services for victims of child sexual exploitation; and if he will make a statement.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/432", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Helen Jones"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Warrington North"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Helen Jones"} ], "uin" : "160694"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/934887", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Transport"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/934887/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

Under the terms of the draft Withdrawal Agreement, the UK is to be treated as a Member State for the purposes of international agreements in the Implementation Period. This will enable continuity across our existing trade agreements through this period, and many of our trading partners have issued public statements in support of this approach.

In parallel to this, we continue to work towards bilateral agreements that will ensure continuity beyond the Implementation Period. We have had positive discussions with our trading partners on these agreements, and are confident of securing a smooth transition for businesses and consumers.
