Prevention and early intervention remains the foundations of our approach to tackling violence and domestic abuse and we support approaches which focus on partnership working. It is important that there is effective working between agencies and schools to protect children experiencing domestic abuse.

The Ministry of Justice provides £68 million per year to Police and Crime Commissioners to support victims of crime in their areas. This includes services specifically supporting children suffering the impact of domestic abuse.

We have launched a consultation seeking views on what we can do across government to transform the response to domestic abuse. We welcome the expertise of Police and Crime Commissioners to help inform our approach.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/3921", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Dr Phillip Lee"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Bracknell"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Dr Phillip Lee"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2018-04-24", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2018-04-24T16:38:25.77Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "54"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Justice"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Justice"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2018-04-18", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Domestic Abuse: Children"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, if he will take steps with the Home Secretary to encourage Police and Crime Commissioners to work with schools to ensure that early support is provided for children experiencing domestic abuse.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/345", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Sir Edward Leigh"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Gainsborough"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Sir Edward Leigh"} ], "uin" : "904913"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/886120", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Ministry of Justice"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/886120/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

The Department for Transport and its Arms Length Bodies are engaged in a continuous process of anticipating and responding to the resourcing requirements of EU Exit. The Department is working with the Civil Aviation Authority (a public corporation), Office of Rail and Road (a non-Ministerial Department) and Maritime and Coastguard Agency (an Executive Agency) to ensure they have sufficient staff and resources to support the government and their respective industries post-EU exit.

As was confirmed in the Spring statement, the Department for Transport has been allocated £75.8m for essential EU exit preparations in 2018-19. While this has not been allocated yet, a proportion of this will be used to support resourcing requirements across the Department, and its associated agencies and public bodies.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1413", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Chris Grayling"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Epsom and Ewell"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Chris Grayling"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2018-04-23", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2018-04-23T16:21:22.533Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "27"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Transport"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Transport"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2018-04-18", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Department for Transport: Staff"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate he has made of the additional (a) staff and (b) resources required by the (i) Civil Aviation Authority, (ii) the Office of Rail and Road and (iii) the Maritime and Coastguard Agency after the UK leaves the EU.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4269", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Andy McDonald"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Middlesbrough"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Andy McDonald"} ], "uin" : "136318"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/886124", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Transport"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/886124/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "
