Defra is not directly involved in developing the fishery sector in the Falkland Islands, as responsibility for fisheries management has been devolved to the Falkland Islands Government. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is the lead department for matters relating to the Falkland Islands and Defra works closely with the FCO on wider matters relating to fisheries that are relevant to the UK Government.<\/p>
