Pension scheme trustees are subject to a range of duties which, broadly speaking, require them to act in the best interests of beneficiaries.<\/p>

The Government consulted on whether the law should be changed to provide clarity for pension scheme trustees about their legal duties regarding considering financial and non-financial factors when taking investment decisions, as well as encouraging trustees to consider their approach to stewardship. The Government will respond to this consultation later this year.<\/p>

Jobcentre Plus offers a wide range of support to help claimants back into work. This includes specialist provision delivered through the Flexible Support Fund aimed at supporting vulnerable claimants with a mental health condition, learning difficulties or other disabilities. The Work Programme, Improving Access to Psychological Therapies and the Troubled Families Programme are also tailored to support families with children and people with mental health conditions.<\/p>

The decision to temporarily halt a claimant\u2019s benefit payment is always thoroughly considered and is not something we do lightly. It is a consequence of a claimant not meeting their requirements in return for receiving the benefit without good reason. The requirements and consequences are clearly communicated with them throughout their claim and set out in their Claimant Commitment. There are a number of steps in the decision making process to ensure that our decisions are correct. <\/em><\/p>

The Department for Education monitors the number of teachers working in all state funded schools (including all local authority maintained schools, free schools and academies) and the number of vacancies reported by these schools via the annual School Workforce Census. The number of new teachers per year can be calculated using the census.<\/p>

The information on teacher numbers and vacancies is also used by the department to determine the number of teacher training places that will be made available in each year.
