Within this there are approximately 4.4m taxpayers aged between 21 and 64 and 500,000 taxpayers aged 65 or over who pay the higher rate or above.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>This table contains estimates of the total number of taxpayers aged under 21 years old, 21 to 64 years old and those aged 65 and over split by the marginal tax rates. These figures are projected for 2014-15.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>The estimates are based upon the 2011-12 Survey of Personal Incomes using economic assumptions consistent with the OBR\u2019s March 2014 economic and fiscal outlook to project forward.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>Estimates of the UK population by age are published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
