Government guidance is clear that building safety is the responsibility of building owners and we have given expert advice on a range of safety issues to provide clarity.<\/p>
The Department has ongoing engagement with developers and building owners of private sector high-rise residential buildings (over 18 metres or six storeys, whichever is reached first) with unsafe cladding. This has led to the remediation of over half of high-rise residential buildings with unsafe Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding being funded by the developer, freeholder or through warranty claims, without passing the costs onto leaseholders. Furthermore, the Private Sector ACM Remediation Fund and the Building Safety Fund for the remediation of buildings with unsafe non-ACM cladding both require applicants to demonstrate that they have taken all reasonable steps to recover the costs of replacing the unsafe cladding from those responsible through insurance claims, warranties or legal action.<\/p>
Government also expects building owners who have already committed to pay for the removal and replacement of unsafe cladding systems to honour their commitments.<\/p>
We recognise that there are cases where leasehold agreements will allow building owners or their managing agents to pass on remediation costs to leaseholders. That is why the Government is developing proposals to help to protect leaseholders, and we will provide more details as soon as we are in a position to do so.<\/p>"}

Building Owners should consider all routes to meet costs, including through warranties and recovering costs from contractors for incorrect or poor work. We have seen many responsible developers and building owners stepping up to take responsibility for correcting these defects - for example, in more than half of the high-rise private sector buildings with ACM cladding.<\/p>
Government also expects building owners who have already committed to pay for the removal and replacement of unsafe non-ACM cladding systems to honour their commitments.<\/p>

The Government remains committed to improving protections for park home residents and this includes changing the pitch fee review inflationary index from the Retail Prices Index (RPI) to the Consumer Prices Index (CPI).<\/p>

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) will help to level up and create opportunity across the UK. A portion of the UKSPF will target places most in need across the UK, such as ex-industrial areas, deprived towns\u202fand rural\u202fand coastal communities.<\/p>
Places receiving funding will be asked to agree specific outcomes to target within a UK-wide framework.\u202fThey\u202fwill\u202fthen develop investment proposals to be approved by\u202fthe Government\u202famong a representative stakeholder group. A second portion of the Fund will\u202fbe targeted differently to\u202fpeople most in need\u202fthrough bespoke\u202femployment and skills\u202fprogrammes\u202fthat are tailored to local need.<\/p>
To help local areas prepare over 2021/22 for the introduction of the UKSPF, we will provide additional UK funding to support our communities to pilot programmes and new approaches.<\/p>
Further detail on the additional funding will be published soon and we\u202fwill publish a UK-wide investment framework in Spring 2021\u202fsetting our further information on the UKSPF.<\/p>"}

This Government has taken unprecedented steps to protect rough sleepers during the pandemic. This work has not stopped, and through Everyone In, by November we had supported around 33,000 people with nearly 10,000 in emergency accommodation and over 23,000 already moved on into longer-term accommodation.<\/p>
We have been in close contact with councils to develop plans for the coming months, supported by the Next Steps Accommodation Programme, which aims to ensure that as few people as possible return to the streets. This includes bringing forward 3,300 new homes this year for rough sleepers, backed by £150 million, leaving a national legacy of the Government\u2019s support for these individuals.<\/p>
Through this programme and as part of the move on process, local authorities could bid for support for individuals, in line with legal restrictions, to determine or resolve their immigration status. Local authorities were also able to bid for funding to facilitate reconnections with friends or family through voluntary returns and provide employment support. The Home Office has also put in place a dedicated Rough Sleeping Support Service to prioritise support work and help people who sleep rough resolve their immigration status.<\/p>
For some people, who have received all available support, they may decide to return to their home country. For people who have no means of doing so, or who need some assistance, the\u202fVoluntary\u202fReturns Service can provide practical support to assist those who wish to return.<\/p>
The Government is also providing funding for charities and voluntary organisations across the country to provide help and information to vulnerable EU citizens applying to the EU Settlement Scheme.<\/p>"}
