We want all young people, regardless of economic background, to be healthy and active, and playing tennis is a great way to achieve this. Coaching courses and participation fees are for sports to manage, but as set out in the government's sport strategy Sporting Future, we should ensure that opportunities to engage in sport and physical activity are as inclusive and accessible as possible

Sport England published its new coaching plan “Coaching in an Active Nation: The Coaching Plan for England” earlier this year, setting out a key objective of making it easier to become a coach. An important part of that is reducing the costs of entry. Sport England has recently commissioned a review of the UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) which will include looking at the issue of the increased cost of coaching qualifications.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4247", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Ashton of Hyde"} } , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Lord Ashton of Hyde"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2017-07-26", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2017-07-26T15:10:53.313Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "10"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Digital, Culture, Media and Sport"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Digital, Culture, Media and Sport"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2017-07-17", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "2"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25277", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Lords"} } ], "questionText" : "Her Majesty's Government what discussions they have held with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) regarding the fee structure for coaching courses and for the Level One coaching qualification for school-aged children; what assessment they have made of the impact of fees charged on participation by young people from (1) state, and (2) private schools; and whether they have advised the LTA to vary that fee structure according to which type of school a young person attends.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4150", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Baroness Armstrong of Hill Top"} } , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Baroness Armstrong of Hill Top"} ], "uin" : "HL858"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1176236", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1176236/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

All operators who supply gambling to customers in Great Britain must be licensed by the Gambling Commission. Its jurisdiction also extends to online operators who supply gambling to customers outside Great Britain, if the equipment with which they do so is located in this country, and gross gambling yield from these activities is recorded as non-GB GGY. That category also includes GGY which any GC-licensed operator has derived from supplying gambling to customers in other jurisdictions which either allow it to operate there by virtue of its GB licence, or do not have specific legal requirements relating to online gambling. The Commission does not collect granular data on the jurisdictions from which this GGY is derived.

Digital connectivity is a clear priority for this Government, and we compare well to other EU countries. BDUK’s Superfast programme will provide at least 24 Megabits per second (Mbps) coverage to 95% of the UK by the end of this year. According to the latest data, published on thinkbroadband.com, UK coverage at 30Mbps is 92.6%.

The European Commission, in their 2017 report "Europe's Digital Progress", state that the EU average for 30Mbps coverage is just 76%.

In terms of 100Mbps coverage, thinkbroadband report that for the UK this currently stands at 52.8%. We are keen to ensure even better digital connectivity in the UK, and we announced a package of measures worth £1.1 billion at Autumn Statement 2016 to support this:
