The Government is committed to ensuring all communities continue to have suitable access to the rail network. Officials constantly monitor the situation and are looking at ways to ensure connectivity is maintained by working with existing franchises and Open Access Operators to provide appropriate levels of services. In recent months this approach has seen various Train Operating Companies augment their services to ensure continued access to the local community when some Open Access Operators were in periods of hibernation.<\/p>

In addition, through their Franchise Agreements train companies are required to make timetable information available and free of charge in booklets or similar format at staffed stations.<\/p> <\/p> Disabled People\u2019s Protection Policies, required as a condition of a train operator\u2019s licence, require train companies to demonstrate that the varied needs of different disabled passengers are taken into account when considering how information is communicated. All information about train services on display at stations must be made available through appropriate telephone help lines and staffed information points.<\/p>"}
