Expenditure on smoking cessation advertising media by Public Health England (PHE) in 2016-17 was £1,520,000.<\/p>

The projected expenditure for smoking cessation campaigns for PHE campaigns in 2017-18 is £2,060,000. Figures for 2017-18 are provisional at this stage. A final amount will be available later in the year once all accounts have been finalised.<\/p>

Prison healthcare providers commissioned by NHS England are responsible for referring patients diagnosed with hepatitis C virus infection to specialist services for assessment and treatment.<\/p>

Public Health England is supporting a research study into barriers to accessing hepatitis C virus treatment for people in prison, due to be completed in September 2018. Identified issues to date include: length of stay in a specific prison; patient choice; development of referral pathways from prisons, and \u2018run rates\u2019 imposed on Operational Delivery Networks which limited the number of people treated per year<\/p>"}

The Government has noted the importance of continued collaboration with European partners in the 2017 policy paper \u2018Collaboration on Science and Innovation: A Future Partnership Paper\u2019. European Reference Networks (ERNs) for rare diseases patients were cited in the paper as an example of collaboration that the United Kingdom and European Union should discuss in the negotiations, given the mutual benefit.<\/p>

The Government has set out three key principles in developing a new regulatory system post EU exit: patients should not be disadvantaged; innovators should be able to get their products into the UK market as quickly and simply as possible; and we continue to play a leading role promoting public health.
