The Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority have announced enforcement investigations into the Co-operative Bank, which are currently ongoing.<\/p>

Since 2011, the Government has abolished the previous government\u2019s fuel duty escalator, cut fuel duty by 1 pence per litre in March 2011 and scrapped four planned increases over the parliament. As a result of this Government\u2019s actions, average pump prices are currently 16 pence per litre lower than they would have been under the previous Government\u2019s fuel duty plans, and will be nearly 20 pence per litre lower by the end of the parliament.<\/p>

The Government takes the enforcement of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) very seriously. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) review every complaint that is referred to them by the Pay and Work Rights Helpline. In addition, HMRC undertake targeted enforcement on employers across the United Kingdom who are more likely to be not paying NMW.<\/p>
<\/p>
HMRC does not keep statistics at a regional level. Many employers' registered trading addresses differ from where they undertake business. Larger employers may be registered under one address but have outlets across the country.<\/strong><\/p> <\/p>"}

To identify sectors where non-payment of National Minimum Wage is more likely HMRC and BIS analyse numbers of complaints and incidences of non-compliance and take account of information from, for example, other Government Departments, Trade Union representatives and the Low Pay Commission . Using this information, and often in conjunction with other Government Departments, HMRC have undertaken targeted enforcement on areas such as the care sector, car washes and the retail sector, amongst others.<\/p> <\/p> <\/p> <\/p> However, HMRC, including National Minimum Wage officials, undertake joint working with the police, Home Office and local authorities across the country.
