Straightforward passport applications from applicants in the UK have a published expected turnaround of three weeks. For the financial year 2013-14,
99.58 percent of customers received their passports within that period.
Achievement of turnaround times is a national objective and specific targets are not focused on individual offices. This approach allows HM Passport Office

Tackling cyber crime is one of the key objectives of the UK\u2019s Cyber Security Strategy. The Government has supported this with £860m of investment over five years through the National Cyber Security Programme (NCSP). We have so far committed £70m of NCSP funding in improving law enforcement agencies\u2019 ability to respond to this threat, including setting up the National Cyber Crime Unit in the National Crime Agency, and cyber teams in each of the Regional Organised Crime Units. We are also supporting the training of police officers and investigators in local forces in England and Wales, through the development of new online and classroom-based training packages by the College of Policing for 5,000 officers.<\/p>

As of 31 December 2014, 143 people were relocated to the UK under the Vulnerable Persons Relocation (VPR) scheme, 34 of whom were principal applicants (i.e. head of family) and 109 their dependents.
This is the latest publicly available figure, as numbers are released as part of the Home Office official statistics each quarter. The number of arrivals under the scheme up to the end of March 2015 will be published on 21 May.<\/p>

Due to the way data was recorded prior to 2009, it is not possible to provide a breakdown of surrenders of German nationals for the years prior to 2009/2010.
According to information obtained from the National Crime Agency, between the 2009/2010 and 2013/2014 business years, two German nationals were extradited to the UK under a European Arrest Warrant from Germany.
The individuals were Frank Schaper and Michael Luck.<\/p>
Schaper was wanted for the fraudulent evasion of excise duty after entering the UK driving a lorry containing 8,435,200 cigarettes. No duty had been paid on the cigarettes, and the duty evaded totalled £1,242,080. After failing to attend court in the UK, Schaper was arrested in Germany in September 2009 and extradited back to the UK on 18 September 2009.
Luck was involved in a collision which resulted in the death of another lorry driver in the UK. He failed to appear at a police station as instructed, and
was thought to have fled to Germany. When Luck was eventually located in Germany, he was found to be serving a sentence for another offence. The German authorities subsequently agreed to his temporary surrender and he was returned to the UK on 17 June 2011 to stand trial. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to eight months\u2019 imprisonment. He was transferred back to Germany on 17 October 2011 to serve both his remaining German sentence, and his UK sentence.
Figures for 2013 indicate that the main ground for refusal of extradition by Germany to all EU countries, not just the UK, was under Article 4(6) of the
European Arrest Warrant Framework Decision. This provides that where the person has been requested to serve a sentence, the executing state may refuse to extradite its nationals and residents, and instead enforce the sentence in that state<\/p>
In the period to which you refer, the longest waiting time for completion of (a) a new application and (b) for a renewal was both 135 days. In the case of
the new application, the applicant failed to provide the required supporting documentation with their application. Her Majesty's Passport Office (HMPO)
made five separate requests, over the next three months for the documentationto be supplied. The applicant finally supplied the documents over four months after the date of the application. HMPO issued the passport eight days afterreceipt of the documentation. In the case of the renewal, an application was made to renew a child\u2019s passport with a change of name. HMPO wrote to the parent on seven occasions seeking additional information concerning parental responsibility and agreement to the change of name. A court order confirmingthe change of name was forwarded by the applicant over four months afterthe date of application. The passport was issued seven days after receipt of the court order.<\/p>
It is not possible to provide information on the number of Iraqi nationals who have raised a claim for asylum on the basis that they are at risk from persecution of the Islamic State in Iraq and who have been refused asylum.The basis of an individual's claim for asylum is not information that the Home Office centrally records. Law enforcement agencies do not routinely record the professions of individuals who have had their communications data accessed under the Regulation of Investigators Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), as there is no operational reason to do so. Furthermore, at the time that communications data is requested, the police may not be aware of the professions of those individuals that the requested data will relate to. Since Channel was rolled out nationally in 2012, over 2,000 people have been referred to the programme and hundreds of people have been offered support. The Home Office intends to publish further data on the Channel programme later this year. Before this happens, the Hon. Communications data can only be accessed under RIPA when it is necessary for one of the statutory purposes, for example for the prevention and detection of crime and proportionate to what is sought to be achieved. As well as having to be necessary and proportionate, there are additional safeguards provided by the statutory Acquisition of Communications Data Code of Practice 2007 and independent oversight provided by the independent Interception of Communications Commissioner.
