The Planning Inspectorate\u2019s Report to the Secretary of State on the application for development consent for the gas-fired turbines at Drax Power Station states that the total figure for greenhouse gas emissions over the operational lifetime of the project would be 287.568m tonnes (assuming the project is built out in full and operates with 100% loading factor).<\/p>
<\/p>
The Planning Inspectorate\u2019s Report concluded that there was no evidence that granting development consent for the development would in itself lead to a breach of her statutory duties under the Climate Change Act 2008 or any other legislation. Similarly, in concluding that development consent should be granted, the Secretary of State considered that there was no evidence that doing so would lead to a breach of the United Kingdom\u2019s international obligations.<\/p>
