The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) provides consumers with safety information where products pose risk of harm including through publication of product recalls, alerts and important safety messages on gov.uk. The Intellectual Property Office, part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, delivers consumer awareness campaigns on counterfeit goods.

OPSS is working across Government and with business, consumer bodies and fire and rescue services to amplify public safety messages on the safety of consumer products, including e-bikes. To meet our obligations under Section 17 of the Retained EU Law Revocation and Reform (REUL) Act, the first REUL report included a comprehensive list of REUL which has been reformed and revoked and detailed our plans for forthcoming reform SIs. In addition, and to provide Parliament with further insight, the report provided an indication of Government's future roadmap for REUL reform for the whole period to June 2026, informed by reporting from government departments to the Department for Business and Trade (i.e Table 2). In many cases the reforms in the roadmap for future years, are still under development and so the full details of these reforms have not been included in this first report. As details of future reforms are finalised, the Government will provide updates every 6 months via future reports alongside updating the REUL dashboard.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4949", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Johnson of Lainston"} } , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Lord Johnson of Lainston"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2024-02-23", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2024-02-23T13:14:19.167Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "214"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Business and Trade"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Business and Trade"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2024-02-09", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "EU Law"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "2"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25277", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Lords"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the Retained EU Law Parliamentary Report for the period June 2023–December 2023, published on 22 January, what is the departmental breakdown for the following categories set out in Table 2 ('HMG roadmap for the stock of REUL'): (1) 'Propose to revoke in 2024', (2) 'Propose to revoke in 2025–26', (3) 'Propose to reform in 2024', and (4) 'Propose to reform in 2025–26'.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/3736", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Krebs"} } , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Lord Krebs"} ], "uin" : "HL2363"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1688229", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Business and Trade"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1688229/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "
