The decision followed a scientific risk assessment by the European Food Safety Authority, which included a very close scrutiny of the evidence on whether glyphosate causes cancer. UK experts participated in that assessment and supported its conclusions.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>All pesticide products, including Roundup, are tightly regulated by the Health and Safety Executive. Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man are not \u201cstates\u201d, they are territories for which the UK is responsible and so cannot meet that condition.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>It follows that the Crown Dependencies are within scope of the legislation. The government has committed to respecting its international obligations in respect of this measure.
