101 is the single non-emergency number for contacting the police. It was launched in December 2011 to provide a memorable and accessible number for contact with the police. It is shared with Police Scotland and Police Service Northern Ireland.<\/p>
The number was rolled out nationally in 2011 with Vodafone as the single supplier for the service.
