The National Health Service continues to provide world class treatment and care for people living with HIV. In 2017, 92% people living with HIV infection in the United Kingdom were diagnosed, 98% of people diagnosed were receiving treatment and 97% of people receiving treatment were virally suppressed.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4455", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Seema Kennedy"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "South Ribble"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Seema Kennedy"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2019-05-09", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2019-05-09T15:58:46.397Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "17"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2019-05-03", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "HIV Infection"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to ensure that people with HIV are (a) diagnosed and (b) receiving treatment.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/308", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mr Jim Cunningham"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Coventry South"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Mr Jim Cunningham"} ], "uin" : "250669"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1124733", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department of Health and Social Care"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1124733/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

The service delivery factors affecting vaccination coverage in the UK have been reviewed and most recently updated for National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in 2017. This is available to view at the following link:

https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/PH21
NICE therefore recommends the use of call/recall as one of their quality standards to improve uptake in children. Further information is available at the following link:
https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/qs145
NICE is currently consulting on the scope for a further review. Further information on this consultation is available to view at the following link:
https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/indevelopment/gid-ng10139.
The National Institute of Health Research Health Protection Research Unit in immunisation have also conducted a process evaluation of how the routine vaccination programme is implemented at general practitioner practices in England.
