On 18 July the Home Secretary announced his intention to establish a police covenant demonstrating his recognition of the bravery and commitment of police officers.<\/p>

The number and proportion of officers employed in frontline policing roles can be calculated according to the frontline policing model set out by Her Majesty\u2019s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).<\/p>
