The £3 billion Home Building Fund provides long and short term loan finance to build the homes this country needs. To date the fund has allocated £1.177 billon (40 per cent).<\/p>
Of the £1 billion short term fund £0.411 billion (41 per cent) has been allocated. The proportion of schemes which will be delivered by small and medium sized builders is 70 per cent. Of which, nearly 90 per cent of these sites have fewer than 100 homes.<\/p>

The Building Regulations and the supporting guidance already make it a requirement to have appropriate fire doors in new buildings that have shared access and corridors.<\/p>
Housing providers, including social housing providers, are expected to carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment for the common parts of their buildings and put in place the measures identified in those risk assessments, which could include provision in relation to fire doors.
