The safety and security of our citizens is the Government\u2019s top priority.<\/p>

Negotiations continue, and on law enforcement and criminal justice, there is a good degree of convergence in what the UK and EU have been negotiating in terms of operational capabilities.<\/p>
<\/p>
In the event that\u202fit is not possible to reach an agreement, the UK has well-developed and well-rehearsed plans in place.\u202fWe will transition cooperation with EU Member States to alternative, non-EU arrangements by the end of the Transition Period, where available and relevant.\u202fBroadly speaking, this means\u202fmaking more use of Interpol, Council of Europe Conventions and bilateral channels.<\/p>

The UK will continue to be a global leader on security and one of the safest countries in the world.<\/p>
