As stated in the answer to question 68370, the Government does not set a target for how much curriculum time schools must dedicate to PE or specify the sports and activities that must be taught in schools.<\/p>

The new Active Lives Survey, which is run by Sport England, measures how people engage in sport and physical activity. The first set of results were published in January 2017. At this stage the results do not include data about children aged 5 to 15. We want all pupils to be healthy and active. This is why since 2013 the government has provided ring-fenced funding through the Primary PE and Sport Premium to help improve the quality of PE provision.<\/p>
