However, negotiations have yet to reach the \u2018trialogue\u2019 stage as the Council of the EU has not yet agreed a general approach on the text.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The Government\u2019s view is that the ability of researchers to process personal data in the way that they are legitimately able to do so at present must be preserved. Before ratifying a treaty, the UK Government carries out an evaluation of the legislative and administrative changes that adherence would entail.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The Ministry of Justice is currently co-ordinating an evaluation of the United Nations International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance (CPED).
