As part of this, the government has provided £10 million worth of funding to the CreatedBy legacy programme to support the development of large and small scale projects.<\/p><p>The Rugby Football League has received support from the government\u2019s £600 million Sport Survival Package which ensured the survival of sports organisations throughout the pandemic. The Rugby Football League received £16.7 million loan support and £1.95 million grant support from the package, totalling £18.6 million of combined funding. This funding has safeguarded the immediate future of the sport for the communities it serves.<\/p><p>Furthermore, rugby league clubs will have benefitted from the £220m of National Lottery and Exchequer funding committed by Sport England since March 2020 to support community sport clubs and exercise centres through this pandemic.<\/p>"}

The campaign will focus on cities as they are impacted by lower numbers of international visitors and it will target a \u2018pre-nester\u2019 audience (18-34 year olds), encouraging them to book a short city-break.<\/p><p>2022 also promises a host of unmissable events, including Her Majesty\u2019s Jubilee, with a programme of events over the extended Jubilee Bank holiday; Unboxed, which aims to engage millions of people through in person and digital events; as well as the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, which will drive domestic and international visitors to the region.<\/p><p>English Tourism Week from 18th-27th March 2022 is a great opportunity to showcase the best of what the English tourism industry has to offer.       ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1451754/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "<p>On Thursday 3 March, the Secretary of State and I convened a summit with 24 international ministerial counterparts - or senior representatives on their behalf - to discuss the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the response of international sport.<\/p><p>The summit followed bilateral meetings that I held with counterparts from Canada, Poland and Germany.<\/p><p>Following the international summit, a joint <a href=\"https://www.gov.uk/government/news/statement-on-russias-war-on-ukraine-international-sport\" target=\"_blank\">statement<\/a> was signed by 37 nations and published on Tuesday 8 March, affirming the position outlined below:<\/p><ul><li><p>Russia and Belarus should not be permitted to host, bid for or be awarded any international sporting events.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Individual athletes selected by Russia and Belarus, administrators and teams representing the Russian or Belarusian state should be banned from competing in other countries, including those representing bodies, cities or brands that are effectively representing Russia or Belarus, such as major football clubs.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Wherever possible, appropriate actions should be taken to limit sponsorship and other financial support from entities with links to the Russian or Belarusian states.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p> <\/p>"}
