Follwoing release from prison into the community on licence, all child sex offenders will be subject to a series of licence conditions. This will include as standard, the requirement to \u201cnot travel outside the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man except with the prior permission of your supervising officer or for the purposes of immigration deportation or removal.\u201d Such permission is granted only in the most exceptional circumstances, where the offender meets a strict set of criteria.<\/p>

In addition to the prohibitions in a licence in England and Wales, the Police may also apply to the courts for a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to prevent a sex offender from travelling overseas where they suspect that the offender could commit an offence while outside of the UK.
