Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) are authorised for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders.<\/p>
<\/p>
Information about possible side-effects associated with treatment are provided in the product information which is available to all prescribers and patients. All SSRIs include sexual dysfunction (problems with erection or ejaculation) within the list of possible side effects. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is contributing to an ongoing European review of persistent sexual dysfunction for all SSRI medicines.<\/p>
<\/p>
All SSRIs may be associated with withdrawal reactions on stopping or reducing treatment and product information for healthcare professionals and patients includes advice on gradual withdrawal of treatment and management of symptoms.<\/p>
<\/p>
In addition to the product information which is approved by the MHRA, communications and guidance may be issued to raise awareness of particular safety concerns. Information about possible withdrawal reactions and the need to gradually reduce the dose when stopping treatment was issued in 2004 and subsequently incorporated into general guidance published on the MHRA website in 2014.<\/p>

The safety of SSRIs is continually monitored by the MHRA.<\/p>"}

The Department is aware of the National Childbirth Trust\u2019s \u2018Hidden Half\u2019 report and campaign, which are making an important contribution to the debate around the need to develop and improve perinatal mental health services.<\/p>
<\/p>
The NHS Long Term Plan includes a commitment for a further 24,000 women to be able to access specialist perinatal mental health care by 2023/24, building on the additional 30,000 women who will access these services each year by 2020/21 under pre-existing plans as set out in the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health.<\/p>
<\/p>
Specialist care will also be available from preconception to 24 months after birth, which will provide an extra year of support.<\/p>
<\/p>
General practitioners and primary care teams have a crucial role in supporting the identification of perinatal mental illness and treatment, and are part of an integrated pathway of services. This includes monitoring early onset conditions, providing pre-conception counselling and referring women to specialist mental health services, including Improving Access to Psychological Therapies and specialist perinatal community teams, if necessary.<\/p>
<\/p>
Over £1.2 million was provided in 2017 to enable the training of primary care, maternity and mental health staff to increase awareness and skills related to perinatal mental health.<\/p>"}

An individual cannot be compelled to have treatment in the community if they do not want it.<\/p>

For individuals who have been detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, section 17A of the Act makes provision for Community Treatment Orders. This allows conditions to be placed on an individual when in the community, following detention under s3 or s37 of the Mental Health Act. If conditions are not followed, and an individual\u2019s mental health declines, they can be recalled back to hospital for treatment.<\/p>"}
