Friend, the Secretary of State for Education, announced the approval of 37 special free schools and 2 alternative provision free schools, providing thousands of new school places for children with special educational needs or those facing additional challenges in mainstream education. The independent Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) last reviewed whether Dental Practitioners should be included on the SOL in 2019, and did not recommend doing so.<\/p>
<\/p>
Dentists are an eligible occupation to be sponsored under the Skilled Worker route, subject to the rules and requirements of the route being met.<\/p>
<\/p>
The main benefits of an occupation being on the Shortage Occupation List (SOL) is a lower salary threshold and reduced visa fees. Dentists already receive these benefits through tradeable points and the Health and Care visa (which also exempts them from paying the Immigration Health Surcharge), so there would be little visible benefit in adding them to the SOL.<\/p>

Following recommendations in their 2020 review the Government have agreed to review the SOL more regularly, the next review is expected to be in 2022. The UK has ratified the International Labour Organisation\u2019s Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188), which sets minimum global standards for living and working conditions for fishermen. The Government is committed to promoting fairness and transparency for homeowners and ensuring that consumers are protected from abuse and poor service. Where people pay estate rent charges it is not appropriate that these homeowners have limited rights to challenge these costs.<\/p>
That is why the Government intends to legislate to give freehold homeowners who pay estate rent charges the right to challenge their reasonableness and to go to the tribunal to appoint a new management company if necessary.<\/p>
We will also consider the option of introducing a Right to Manage for residential freeholders once we have considered the Law Commission\u2019s report and recommendations on changes to the Right to Manage for leaseholders.<\/p>
The Government has brought forward legislation in the Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Bill to set ground rents on newly created leases to a genuine \u2018peppercorn\u2019 rate of only one peppercorn per year or effectively zero financial value. The Government collects quarterly and annual statistics on how many people approach local authorities as homeless in England. Until April 2018, veterans formed part of a wider vulnerable group category that included: care leavers, ex-offenders and those who have fled home because of violence or the threat of violence (other than domestic violence). As a result, individual statistics on homeless veterans before that date are not published.<\/p>
In April 2018 the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government introduced a new case-level data collection called H-CLIC (Homelessness Case Level Information Collection). This gives local authorities and Government more information regarding homelessness and those presenting as homeless, including those individuals who are veterans as a separate category. The Government does not differentiate between regular and reserve personnel, nor does it record rank.<\/p>
In England from April to June 2018, of the 58,660 households to who, at the point of initial decision, were owed a homelessness duty by the local authority, 0.7 per cent (430) of main applicants had served in the armed forces.<\/p>
