The Government will create the UK Shared Prosperity Fund once we have left the European Union. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund will strengthen the foundations of productivity as set out in our modern Industrial Strategy to support people to benefit from economic prosperity. This new Fund will ensure that investments are targeted effectively to align with the challenges faced by places, creating a fresh opportunity to focus investment according to our own priorities. We are continuing to work on the design and priorities and we will consult widely on the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This will give all interested parties the chance to contribute their views to Government. The Government is committed to supporting all victims of domestic abuse.

My Department does not hold information on the availability of refuges for victims of domestic abuse in (a) Lewisham Borough and (b) London. However, I am pleased to confirm that London Borough of Lewisham were successful in their bid for both the 2016-18 £20 million and the 2018-20 £22 million funds, partnering with the service provider Refuge and building upon their refuge provision and improving support for victims of domestic abuse with complex needs.

Through the 2016-18 fund London Borough of Lewisham was awarded £114,224 over the two years, including receiving a share of the £1.1 million top up funding. In the current 2018-20 fund London Borough of Lewisham has been awarded £90,075, with the first instalment being released December 2018 and the remaining to be released in the 2019/20 financial year. London Borough of Lewisham were among 19 successful projects submitted by London Boroughs securing a total investment of £5,764,849.

My Department has also carried out a review of how domestic abuse services are locally commissioned and funded across England. We have worked closely with sector partners, drawing on their data, expertise and knowledge. Following the review, we intend to consult on potential measures for sustainable delivery of support for victims and their children in accommodation-based services for domestic abuse across England shortly.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4053", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mrs Heather Wheeler"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "South Derbyshire"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Mrs Heather Wheeler"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2019-04-04", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2019-04-04T13:44:09.607Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "7"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Housing, Communities and Local Government"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Housing, Communities and Local Government"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2019-04-01", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Refuges: Domestic Abuse"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what recent assessment he has made of the availability of refuges for victims of domestic violence in (a) Lewisham borough and (b) London.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4491", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Vicky Foxcroft"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Lewisham, Deptford"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Vicky Foxcroft"} ], "uin" : "239275"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1107750", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1107750/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

The Government is committed to increasing the supply of social housing and has made £9 billion available through the Affordable Homes Programme to March 2022 to deliver 250,000 new affordable homes of a wide range of tenures, including homes for social rent.

In addition to this, we announced an additional £2 billion of long term funding certainty for housing associations. This extra funding will deliver more affordable homes and stimulate the sector’s wider building ambitions, through strategic partnerships. Our ten year funding commitment through strategic partnerships marks the first time any government has invested such long-term funding in new homes through housing associations.

Since 2010, we have delivered over 407,000 new affordable homes, including over 293,000 affordable homes for rent.

On 25 March we published a joint study by MHCLG and DWP on the causes of homelessness and rough sleeping. We are currently considering options for how we will take forward the main study following completion of the feasibility study. We will report back to the Public Accounts Committee in June 2019.

There are a total of 202 households from Grenfell Tower and Walk that were made homeless and require rehousing by the Council

Of these 202 households, there are 19 households that have not yet been rehoused in permanent accommodation: 5 households are currently in emergency accommodation (2 in hotels and 3 in serviced apartments) and 14 households are in temporary accommodation

Of these 19 households, 13 households have accepted an offer of permanent accommodation. We expect the Council to do whatever is necessary to ensure these households can move and settle into their permanent homes as swiftly as possible, but to do so sensitively and taking into account individual households' specific needs
