Therefore, any new statutory duties would be subject to the new burdens doctrine.<\/p><p>Many local authorities already work very closely on wellbeing issues and are keen to develop effective approaches. Best practice models are shared by the Local Government Association, which is a member of the <em>\u2018Parks Action Group\u2019 <\/em>and a pivotal partner in the group\u2019s work in reviewing a range of issues relating to parks and green spaces in England. On 24 May, the Association hosted the <em>\u2018Action on Parks\u2019<\/em> conference sharing learning and best practice with local authorities.<\/p><p>The Government has committed £500,000 to support the <em>Parks Action Group\u2019<\/em> and the work to safeguard and enhance parks and green spaces. The Government will report back to Parliament on the group\u2019s progress later this year.<\/p>"}
