An additional £127 million was also invested in 2022 to go into the maternity system to help increase the National Health Service maternity workforce and improve neonatal care.<\/p><p>The Government funded the Stillbirths and Neonatal Death charity to work with other baby loss charities and Royal Colleges to produce and support the roll-out of a National Bereavement Care Pathway (NBCP). The pathway covers a range of circumstances of a baby loss including miscarriage, stillbirth, termination of pregnancy for medical reasons, neonatal death and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. As of 1 January 2023, 108 NHS England trusts (84%) have committed to adopting the nine NBCP standards.<\/p>"}

To support those who do not qualify for an exemption from prescription charges, the cost of prescriptions can be capped by purchasing a prescription pre-payment certificate, which can be paid for in instalments. A holder of a 12-month certificate can get all the prescriptions they need for just over £2 per week.<\/p>"}

From 29 July to 12 August 2022, NICE consulted with provisional stakeholders on the suggested remit, draft scope and provisional stakeholder list of consultees and commentators.<\/p><p>NICE has begun its evaluation and currently expects to publish draft guidance in April 2023 with final guidance in May 2023. In discussion with the manufacturer AstraZeneca, NICE is expediting the appraisal process by bringing forward the deadline for the company\u2019s evidence submission in order to issue guidance to the National Health Service as soon as possible.<\/p>"}
