A significant cross-government effort is under way, dubbed \u2018Operation Warm Welcome\u2019, to ensure Afghans arriving in the UK receive the vital support they need to rebuild their lives, find work, pursue education, and integrate into their local communities.<\/p>
As part of Operation Warm Welcome, it was announced there would be further funding for up to 300 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships for Afghans at UK universities. The Government consulted earlier this year on proposals to ensure that early years funding is allocated efficiently and fairly across the country. Our aim is that funding reaches early years providers so they can deliver on a sustainable basis.<\/p>
A national funding formula is core to these proposals, and covers the vast majority of funding for early years education. Alongside this, government proposed a targeted funding stream to build the capacity of providers to support disabled children; and indicated that it intended to retain the early years pupil premium to support disadvantaged children.<\/p>

It is for local authorities to determine the support they arrange, including any specialist education services for children and young people with low incidence needs. The importance of making appropriate provision for children with low incidence needs and local authorities including information about specialist support in their local offer is set out in the new 0-25 special educational needs and disability code of practice.
