The DPA and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) introduced a duty on all organisations including social media companies to notify certain types of personal data breaches to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).<\/p>
<\/p>
Under the GDPR, a company may designate one national regulator in the European Union as its \u201clead supervisory authority\u201d, so that it does not have to deal with 28 separate regulators. In the case of Facebook, the Irish Data Protection authority takes that role and is therefore leading on this breach.<\/p>
<\/p>
The ICO is working with its Irish counterpart to ensure that it fulfils its role to protect UK citizens data. This includes establishing the number of UK users affected.<\/p>

To date, over 500,000 young people have taken part in the NCS programme. The most recently published evaluation has found that 82% of young people felt more positive about people from different backgrounds, and participants are more likely to use their time to help others after NCS[1]<\/sup><\/sup>. Marketing is a key recruitment driver for NCS, ensuring that more young people across the country benefit from the programme.<\/p> <\/p>
The brand refresh is one part of the overall marketing and creative services tender which includes communications planning, creative strategy, brand platform, experience, advertising campaign development, and content production. The £10m figure was stated in a NCS Trust procurement document as an upper limit over 4 years. The actual cost of the contract is likely to be around £1m per year, for 4 years of the contract.<\/p>
<\/p>
The NCS Trust is forecast to self-generate c. £3m income in the upcoming financial year. The brand refresh element of the marketing and creative services contract in question will be paid from those funds and we can confirm that no government funding will be spent on this element of the contract. The remainder of the contract will be funded by Government funding.<\/p>

DCMS officials were in regular contact with the European Commission throughout 2016 and 2017 about the European Capital of Culture competition, and were notified of the European Commission's decision to discontinue the UK\u2019s eligibility in the competition for the next round (2020-2033).<\/p>

The UK is seeking an ambitious agreement on cultural cooperation with the EU as part of our future partnership as set out in the Political Declaration. The UK is continuing to explore participation in the successor to Creative Europe, which includes the European Capital of Culture Competition.
