Since the start of the pandemic, the Government\u202fhas delivered an unprecedented package of support for businesses. Over £26bn has been allocated\u202fon business grants with a further\u202f£1 billion of support announced, in December 2021, for\u202fbusinesses\u202fin\u202fEngland\u202fmost impacted by Omicron.\u202f\u202fFrom this, £635\u202fmillion\u202fhas been made available for local authorities to support the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors and over £100\u202fmillion\u202fof\u202fdiscretionary funding for businesses severely impacted by Omicron through the\u202fAdditional Restrictions Grant scheme.<\/p>

Local Authorities are encouraged to support businesses from all sectors that have been severely impacted by restrictions, or by the Omicron variant, including those paying business rates.<\/p>
