Coverage of women\u2019s professional sport on free to air television has improved significantly in the last ten years, with the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup and Euro Championships, Women\u2019s Rugby World Cup, cycling and tennis being regular fixtures on the BBC and ITV.<\/p>

We know that more can be done to improve equality in sports broadcasting. That is why we have just announced our proposal to add the Paralympic Games to the list and we have started the statutory consultation process to do that. We are also considering the addition of women\u2019s only sporting events where the equivalent men\u2019s only tournaments are currently listed, which we plan to consult on later in the year. DCMS has a commitment to ensure that employees maintain a healthy work-life balance, and that the working hours of our staff are compliant with the requirements of the Working Time Regulations 1998. All employees have the opportunity to request to work \u2018flexi hours\u2019, meaning that (with line manager agreement) they can build up a certain amount of working hours as credit which can then be taken as time off. The Government does not currently collect data on differences in pay for LGBT vs non-LGBT staff. There is likely to be variation in the extent to which organisations collect this information about their staff. As part of the LGBT Action Plan, the Government Equalities Office is working with the Office for National Statistics and the Government Statistical Service on a cross-government project to develop monitoring standards for sexual orientation and gender identity across central government.
