We asked the CPS to analyse a sample of rape cases finalised in 2016 to assess the frequency and outcome of applications to introduce evidence of a complainant\u2019s sexual history under s 41 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999.<\/p>
<\/p>
A section 41 application was made by the defence in 13% of the 309 sample cases looked at. In 8% of the 309 sample cases, an application to permit such evidence was granted by the court.<\/p>

The decision to close a branch remains a commercial judgement for banks. However, the impact on communities must be understood, considered and mitigated where possible.<\/p> <\/p> The Access to Banking Protocol was a 2015 industry-wide agreement on bank branch closures, designed to help minimise their impact on customers and communities. In November 2016, Professor Russel Griggs published an independent \u2018one year on\u2019 review of the Protocol, following which the new Access to Banking Standard came into effect in May 2017. The Standard commits banks to ensure personal and business customers are better informed about branch closures and the reasons for them closing, along with the options they have locally to continue to access banking services, including specialist assistance for customers who need more help. The Access to Banking Standard is monitored and enforced by the independent Lending Standards Board.<\/p> <\/p> 99% of banks\u2019 personal and 95% of banks\u2019 business customers are able to withdraw cash, deposit cash and cheques, and make balance enquiries at a Post Office counter via its network of 11,600 branches. At Autumn Budget 2017, my predecessor wrote to the Post Office and UK Finance to ask them to raise public awareness of the banking services available at the Post Office for individuals and SMEs. The Government is committed to ensuring that communities across the UK are fully aware of the important services that remain available to them at their local Post Office, even if their bank branch is closed.<\/p>"}

While overall homeownership rates have remained stable since 2013, they have declined for people under 45 since 2003. The best way to help young people to own their own home is to build more homes, and that is precisely what this Government is doing.<\/p> Already, over 1.1 million additional homes have been delivered in England since 2010, including over 217,000 in 2017 alone. Since 2010, over 357,000 affordable homes have been delivered, as well as the 443,000 households that have been helped into home ownership through Government schemes including Help to Buy and Right to Buy.<\/p> More still needs to be done to get more houses built. We will be working on this through the implementation of our Housing White Paper and the further measures we introduced in the Autumn Budget 2017. This includes reforms to Stamp Duty, which are expected to help 95 per cent of first-time buyers.<\/p>"}
