<p>The Department has no plans to bring forward legislative proposals for amending
the regulation of advertising for aesthetic and cosmetic treatments.</p><p>The Government
is committed to improving the safety of cosmetic procedures through better training
for practitioners, and clear information so that people can make informed decisions
about their care.</p><p>The Committee for Advertising Practice (CAP) publish codes
and guidance for advertising of cosmetic procedures, including endorsements on social
media, which are enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The Department
has been working with the CAP, the ASA and the Joint Council for Cosmetic Procedures
to evaluate the effectiveness of existing safeguards and levels of industry compliance.</p>
