A key finding of the research was that people vaccinated with the current seasonal influenza vaccine (which protects against 2009 H1N1 influenza, a related virus) had some evidence of protection against the novel virus that had been created. In addition, the team showed that the novel transmissible virus is expected to be sensitive to the antiviral medication oseltamivir. Effective counter measures to this novel virus are therefore available.</p><p> </p><p>This research provides information on the mechanisms responsible for adaptation of avian influenza viruses to mammals. Cannabis is not a medicinal product and is not licensed as a medicine in the United Kingdom and the Government has no plans to legalise raw cannabis for medicinal purposes, as cannabis has a number of acute and chronic health effects, such the possibility of developing mental health problems or harming the lungs when smoked.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2010 two applications for research funding into medicinal cannabis have been made to National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Research Programmes. Of these one, within the Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) Programme, has been accepted.</p><p> </p><p>The NIHR also provides support and facilities for research by funding a range of infrastructure facilities. Since 2010 seven projects related to medicinal cannabis have been supported through the NIHR infrastructure; however it is not possible to ascertain the number of applications received as the Department, and our managing agent, does not record this information.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Between April 2010 and March 2014 the Medical Research Council received four applications for funding for research that related to the medicinal cannabis products. Masters of all EU fishing vessels are required to report any lost fishing gear to the vessel's flag state. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2014 answer text <p>Reports of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are collected by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and Commission for Human Medicines (CHM) through the spontaneous reporting scheme, the Yellow Card Scheme.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p>The Yellow Card Scheme collects information relating to suspected adverse drug reactions, which include both serious and non-serious effects which a doctor or patient suspects may have been due to a medicine. The MHRA has received a total of 1207 suspected ADR reports in association with citalopram between 1 January 2009 and 31 August 2014. This number includes reports received directly from healthcare professionals, patients and indirectly through pharmaceutical companies which have a legal obligation to report suspected ADRs. The number of reports received directly from the NHS cannot be determined.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The inclusion of a particular ADR in a report does not necessarily mean it has been caused by the drug, only that the reporter had a suspicion it may have, or it had a close temporal relationship to the administration of the suspect drug. The study, completed between January 2013 and March 2014, brought together all known species records and conservation assessments. Each Department leads on its respective areas of responsibility. Under the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s White Paper, ‘The Overseas Territories: Security, Success and Sustainability’, Defra leads on biodiversity and climate change adaptation and is committed to providing support for endangered species and habitats. This includes work through the ‘Darwin Plus: Overseas Territories Environment and Climate Fund’ launched in October 2012 and implementation of the UK Overseas Territories Biodiversity Strategy. In 2013 a dedicated illegal wildlife trade team of three full-time staff, including one funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), was set up in the FCO. This team was responsible for organising the London Conference on IWT in February 2014, working closely with Defra, the lead government department. Following the London Conference, this team was reduced to one full-time staff member. Since July 2014, in the run up to the Botswana Conference, two staff members in the FCO have been working predominantly on IWT, supported by a number of others working part-time.</p><p> </p><p>In the FCO’s overseas network, several UK based and locally engaged staff work part time on IWT. It is not possible to provide a breakdown without disproportionate cost.
