	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what steps he is taking to tackle reported ongoing issues of poor connectivity and online disruption at HM Courts and Tribunals Service.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/01/2019 answer text <p>I would like to apologise to those who were affected by the recent intermittent disruption, which was caused by an infrastructure failure in our supplier’s data centre. Services continued to operate, and court hearings continued, but I know how frustrating this was for anyone affected.</p><p>We have been working continuously with our suppliers and connectivity has been restored across the Ministry of Justice estate. The Ministry of Justice Permanent Secretary and Chief Executive for HM Courts and Tribunals Service met with the Chief Executive of Atos UK &amp; Ireland to understand what went wrong. Connectivity has been restored across the Ministry of Justice estate.</p><p> </p><p>I want to apologise to those who were affected by the intermittent disruption last week. Services continued to operate, and court hearings continued, but I know how frustrating this was for anyone affected.</p><p>HMCTS staff have worked hard to implement pre-planned contingencies to minimise the impact of the IT issues on criminal trials and all of those involved.
