There is no legal recognition of a third gender. Her Majesty’s Passport Office can therefore only issue passports indicating ‘male’ or ‘female’.</p><p>The Government is aware of an increasing number of people who identify as neither exclusively male nor female. We have committed to carrying out a call for evidence on the experiences of people who have a non-binary gender identity. Applications closed on 22 June 2020. Interviews are due to take place in July. The successful candidate will be announced in due course.</p><p> </p><p>We have included in the Counter Terrorism and Sentencing Bill a measure to remove the existing statutory deadline for the Review set out in the Counter Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019 while maintaining the legislative commitment to undertake it. This is to ensure that the new Reviewer has sufficient time to complete the Review. Each individual assessment is made against the background of any relevant caselaw and the latest available country information. Our position on Iraq is set out in the relevant country policy and information note on the gov.uk website.</p><p> </p><p>Where someone establishes a well-founded fear of persecution or serious harm in their country, they are normally granted protection and are not expected to return there. The Home Office only seeks to return those whose asylum claim have been unsuccessful. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/03/2017 answer text <p>Although the Home Office provides for exceptions to the need to pay application fees in a number of specific circumstances, these exceptions do not extend to those seeking confirmation of status, such as those who apply to transfer their existing status to a biometric residence permit. If we were to waive fees on this basis, it would result in a reduction in income that would have to be made up through charging other customers higher fees. We believe this would be unfair. The exceptions ensure that the Home Office’s immigration and nationality fee structure complies with international obligations (for example, in relation to refugees and persons deriving rights under European law) and wider government policy. .</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office does not receive or hold data on the number of people who hold an expired travel document with a valid visa but need to provide</p><p>acceptable evidence of their right to work to a new employer. In these circumstances the individual is required to apply to the Home Office to transfer their conditions, as a result of which they will receive a biometric residence permit. While the Home Office is processing the application it provides a checking service for employers to verify someone’s right to work so that the ability to start work is not impeded. The Prevent duty guidance makes it clear that this must be assessed on a case-by-case basis.</p><p>The Home Office has policies and procedures in place to ensure impacts are thoroughly considered on a case-by-case basis, undertaking its statutory duties including Equality Impact Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments. The majority of Home Office data is processed under Part 2, General Processing, of the Data Protection Act 2018; however, this can vary.</p><p>The Prevent duty training offer has recently been updated and is available on gov.uk. Information sharing principles and data protection form a key element of the training courses. This also includes a good practice video and links to other government resources for further advice. Data protection will also feature in our new training offer that will replace the Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent. The consultation ran from 9 July to 17 September 2019 and sought views on a range of proposals intended to strengthen the reporting requirement.
