unstar this property answer text <p>The multi-million-pound Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme is the Government’s main mechanism for supporting deployment of Offshore Wind in Great Britain. CfD Allocation Round (AR) 4 was the biggest ever auction and secured a record 7GW of new capacity. Government committed last year to running annual CfD Allocation Rounds, starting with AR5 in March 2023.</p><p> </p><p>Through the Offshore Manufacturing Investment Scheme (OWMIS) and floating wind counterpart (FLOWMIS), the Government has also made £160 million of investment available to upgrade ports and manufacturing infrastructure across the UK.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Government expanded the Warm Home Discount scheme to support more low-income and vulnerable households. The Government published impact assessments when consulting and publishing the Government’s response.</p><p>To be eligible for a rebate under Core Group 2, a household must be in receipt of a qualifying means-tested benefit and living in a property which we have estimated to have relatively high heating costs. Broadly speaking, larger properties, as well as older and more detached properties, have higher heating costs and therefore are more likely to be eligible for a rebate.</p><p>These changes do not apply in Scotland, where customers apply for a Broader Group rebate through their energy suppliers, who can set their own eligibility criteria.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Round 5, including for tidal stream, will be published in the Budget Notice in March 2023.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is committed to exploring the potential of tidal power to contribute to the Government's Net Zero ambitions. Over 40MW of new tidal stream power was secured via Allocation Round 4.</p><p> </p><p>To enable delivery of the commitments in the British Energy Security Strategy, the Department has strengthened the energy National Policy Statements, including a framework for assessing planning applications for tidal stream projects of above 100MW capacity. The Department will re-consult on the draft National Policy Statements shortly.</p> more like this

The Department designs Contract for Difference (CfD) auctions to maximise low-carbon electricity deployment at low cost. Contracts are awarded under the CfD scheme following a competitive process. Each year the Department considers market conditions, project pipeline, and project costs in setting CfD auction parameters. Full auction parameters for CfD Allocation Round 5, including for tidal stream and wave, will be published in the Budget Notice in March 2023.</p> more like this
