	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/04/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>Product development partnerships, using a mixture of public and private sector partners, can develop new technologies more rapidly than either the public or private sectors alone.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government is currently supporting ten product development partnerships, details of nine awards were published 23 August 2013 and can be found at:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/dfid-invests-to-save-millions-from-deadly-diseases" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/news/dfid-invests-to-save-millions-from-deadly-diseases</a>. Support is also provided to the Meningitis Vaccine Development Programme. A number of European States fund product development partnerships.
