British officials have raised this incident with Saudi officials, who have denied publicly that an airstrike took place, and British officials are urgently seeking information from all credible sources. Our Ambassador discussed the impact of social media on intercommunal relations and the necessity of interfaith dialogues in his meeting with the Minister for Religious Affairs on 9 August. Our Embassy continues to work with local partners in Myanmar to tackle this issue.</p><p>The British Government continues to raise Myanmar at the UN Human Rights Council. We played a leading role, working with EU partners and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and secured a UN Human Rights Council Resolution on 27 September that sets out the steps the Government of Myanmar should take to address the spread of discrimination and prejudice and to combat the incitement to hatred against the Rohingya Muslims and other minorities, by publicly condemning such acts and enacting necessary anti-hate speech laws.</p><p>We further secured a UN Human Rights Resolution in March which called upon the Government of Myanmar to step up action to combat incitement to violence and hate speech.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Cities of London and Westminster answering member printed Mark Field question first answered 11/04/2019 16:34:30 answering member 1405 label Biography information for Mark Field

Minister for the Commonwealth and UN, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, discussed this issue with the Trinidad and Tobago Minister of National Security in January 2019. Our High Commissioner has also raised on several occasions the need for a process to register incoming Venezuelans with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. We have consistently called on all parties to protect civilians, improve commercial and humanitarian access for essential imports of food, fuel and medical supplies; facilitate rapid and safe access to all people in need; and safeguard major access routes and key infrastructure in Yemen, including airports, sea ports and fuel distribution sites. The re-opening of Sana’a international airport was discussed by the Yemeni parties in Stockholm, but they did not reach agreement.
