star this property answer text <p>Sport England use the Active People Survey to monitor participation.</p><p> </p><p>In May 2016, Sport England published its new strategy, 'Towards an Active Nation' that sets out how future investment in grassroots sport will be made. It includes an investment guide to all National Governing Bodies (NGB) for the 2017-21 period.Previous track record of delivery against targets in the 2013-2017 funding cycle will be part of that assessment. star this property answer text <p>Both the Secretary of State and I spoke to the FA following the recent allegations made by the Daily Telegraph, and they confirmed they are working across football to investigate. It is important that the FA demonstrates good governance of their sport, and that includes dealing effectively with those that look to tarnish its reputation. All the evidence presented to them must be investigated fully and the Government stands ready to assist in any way we can.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Football continues to be the nation’s most popular team sport, with over 1.5m more weekly participants than any other team sport. Public funding has gone into programmes delivered by the FA that sustain that interest and also that encourage more people from all ages and backgrounds to take part in the sport.</p><br /><p>Sport England has challenged the FA to deliver results for the public money it receives. In 2014, £1.6million was taken away after the FA failed to reverse a decline in the number of people regularly playing the sport.</p><p> </p><p>Since then, outdoor 5-a-side football has seen an increase in participation from 744,200 people per week in 2010 (APS4) to 795,700 in 2016 (APS10 Q2) showing changing customer demands which the FA must continue to respond to.</p> more like this

The scheme is funded at £2.4 million over three years with £800,000 being made available for each year of the scheme.</p><p>There is no limit on the amount available for each individual bid but bidders are required to meet 20% of the total cost of the security equipment if successful.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In February 2017, the Government published the Tackling Child Sexual Exploitation: Progress Report and announced a £40m package of measures to protect children and young people from sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking, and to crack down on offenders. This includes £2.3m for the successful Disrespect Nobody campaign, which raises young people’s awareness of healthy relationships. The National Crime Agency’s education programme, Thinkuknow, helps children and young people to identify the risks they may face both online and off.</p><p> </p><p>We are strengthening law enforcement capacity and capability and have provided millions of pounds of extra investment through the Police Transformation Fund to transform policing to respond to changing crimes and threats, including more than £20million to help combat the online grooming of children for sexual exploitation.</p><p>The Children and Social Work Act (2017) made it a requirement that all primary schools in England teach relationships education and secondary schools in England teach relationships and sex education (RSE). First teaching is expected to commence in September 2019.</p>
