star this property answer text We carried out Operation Pitting, the biggest and fastest emergency evacuation in recent history, bringing out of Afghanistan around 15,000 people, including around 8,300 British Nationals, 5,000 people through the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP) and approximately 500 special cases of particularly vulnerable Afghans, including Chevening scholars, journalists, human rights defenders, campaigners for women's rights, judges and many others. All these figures include dependants.
Additionally, under Operation Pitting 311 families eligible for relocation under ARAP were called forward but were not evacuated from Afghanistan, the vast majority of whom were Afghan nationals. Our efforts to contact and support vulnerable individuals and their dependants continues, and we are making every effort to assist them to reach the UK.

Since 28 August, over 500 more individuals eligible to come to the UK have been able to leave Afghanistan, and as well as more than 400 British Nationals and dependants.

star this property answer text The violent and draconian crackdown on peaceful protestors is completely unacceptable and requires a strong message from the international community. The people's right to protest and communicate freely must be respected. I met the United Nations Special Envoy to Myanmar to discuss the UK's concern at the coup and how we can ensure a coordinated international response. We also discussed the situation with the United Nations Special Rapporteur, expressing the UK's concern at the human rights violations, such as suppression of communication, currently being committed in Myanmar. The Foreign Secretary and I, as Minister for Asia, have spoken to a wide range of counterparts, including the US, France, Germany and Japan. We have also engaged with partners in ASEAN, including with the ASEAN Secretary General, to seek a strong and coordinated response. We welcome ASEAN's Five Point Plan on Myanmar and agree with ASEAN Leaders that the violence must end immediately. more like this

star this property answer text HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is responsible for the collection and publication of data on imports and exports of goods to and from the UK. HMRC releases this information monthly, as a National Statistic called the Overseas Trade in Goods Statistics (OTS), which is available via their dedicated website (www.uktradeinfo.com). Classification codes (according to the Harmonised System) are available to assist you in accessing published trade statistics data in the UK Global Tariff. Goods moving to and from the UK are identified by an eight-digit commodity code. These are publicly available from the UK Trade Tariff.

Alcohol falls within commodity code chapter headings 2203-2208. The full commodity code would depend on the specific type of alcohol. By searching with these codes on uktradeinfo.com you can determine the volume and value of alcohol imported into and exported from the UK.

If you need help or support in constructing a table from the data on uktradeinfo, please contact uktradeinfo@hmrc.gov.uk.
