star this property answer text <p>Complete data on new starters in March 2020 is not yet available as some people starting work in March will not be paid until April 2020 and so may not have been included on a PAYE RTI submission received to date by HMRC.</p><p> </p><p>The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme has had to be set up to operate at significant scale and with limited manual intervention. The Government has prioritised helping the greatest number of people as quickly as possible. The scheme will enable millions of people to remain employed. Requiring eligible employees to be notified on an RTI submission on or before 19 March 2020 allows as many people as possible to be included by going right up to the day before the announcement, and balances the risk of fraud that exists as soon as the scheme became public.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Banks and building societies are ready and able to support consumers impacted by COVID-19. On the 17 March, the Chancellor announced on behalf of the sector that banks and building societies will offer a 3-month ‘mortgage holiday’ for borrowers that are financially struggling with heir repayments. This forbearance measure will enable affected borrowers to defer their mortgage payments for up to 3 months while they get back on their feet.</p><p> </p><p>The option of a mortgage repayment holiday will be open to any customer who is up-to-date with their repayments and not already in arrears. Any customer who is concerned about their current financial situation can get in touch with their lender at the earliest possible opportunity to discuss the best option for their them.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government guidance is clear that to be eligible for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, firms must have created and started a PAYE payroll scheme on or before 19 March 2020; be enrolled for PAYE online; and have a UK bank account. As such, any entity with a UK payroll can apply.</p><p> </p><p>Where a company is being taken under the management of an administrator, the administrator will be able to access the Job Retention Scheme. The Government would expect that an administrator would only apply for the scheme if there is a reasonable likelihood of the employees remaining employed; for example, because there is a real prospect of the company being taken on as a going concern, or an active pursuit of a sale of the business.</p><p> </p> more like this

The UK and the EU recognise that this means there could be a spectrum of different outcomes, and both have agreed that we should be as ambitious as possible. The analysis shows that the modelled White Paper scenario, and the sensitivity modelled around it, would support higher economic output for all sectors, nations and regions than the no deal scenario.
