MOD policy and activity in this area is compliant with both domestic and international law. As the Secretary of State for Defence stated in the House on 20 May 2019 (Official Report, column 504), the MOD will review and clarify its internal policy in the light of any updated guidance received from the Investigatory Powers Commissioner.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The number of Officer Cadets who attended either independent or state schools, on the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) Direct Entry (DE) Regular Commissioning (Reg C) Course in the last five years can be found in the attached table.</p><p> </p><p>Officer selection focusses on leadership potential rather than the school attended. Such data is only recorded for the DE Reg C course. As at 1 April 2019 around 9% of officers were professionally qualified and around 22% were Late Entry, neither of which commission through the DE Reg C course.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The figures quoted in the National Security Capabilities Review (NSCR) relate to international participation in more than 80 separate training courses. The majority of these courses are delivered in the UK, but there are a small number of courses delivered overseas. The tables in the attached document provide the following information:</p><p>Tables 1-11: The number of participants, by country, in the highest profile UK-based courses for which there is a consistent high level of international demand for places.</p><p>Tables 12-14: The number of courses delivered overseas by country, and the total number of participants across those courses. (This figure includes estimated participant numbers for some courses).</p><p>Tables 15-16: The total number of international participants by year across the other 70 courses covered by the figure quoted in the NSCR, and a list of countries who have sent participants to any of these courses.</p> more like this
